Responsibilities of Myanmar Teacher

•    Organizing Myanmar Studies classes.
•    Conducting classes as scheduled, and preparing and organizing 2-3 special school-wide programs
•    Supplementing employer-provided materials as necessary and appropriate.
•    Assisting the Principal in curriculum development.
•    Communicating with other Teachers and Teaching Assistants and/or administration as necessary for the maximum possible benefit of students.
•    Participation and contribution to the special events as reasonably required by the school.

Job Specification:

• B.A (Myanmar), more preferable with Teaching certificate and diploma.
• (3) years’ work experience as a Assistant Teacher
• Excellent Subject Knowledge.

Job Description:

• Provides student directed learning.

• Observe students closely enough to report to classroom teacher.
• Is a role model for students by providing good examples of being: active; polite; open - minded; interested in learning new things, etc.
• Encourages students ti answer questions and complete assignments in theit own. as best as they can, first. Asking the teacher should only come as a second step.
• Monitors, enforces and follows this rule: Myanmar may only be spoken by students during Myanmar Studies classes and at outside recess. Otherwise only English is to be spoken  by all staff and students.
• Discusses issues and problems with classroom teacher, lead Myanmar teacher, and special subject teachers.
• Patient with children and enjoys teaching children

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Teach Chinese language to students according to school policies.
• Develop interactive instructional programs to engage students in learning process.
• Prepare instruction materials based on student learning styles and interests.
• Update course materials based on changing curriculum plan.
• Maintain student attendance and academic records.
• Create structured, positive, and learning environment for students.
• Communicate professionally with parents regarding their children’s performance.
• Participate in staff meetings, conferences, workshops, school committees and team teachings.
• Monitor student’s academic performance and provide feedback to improve student learning and developmental skills.
• Maintain strong and positive working relationships with students, parents and other teaching staffs.

Education: Bachelor's Degree or Teaching Certificates 

Experience: Prefers 2 year classroom teaching experience 

• Developing and implementing lessons and work schemes, using the Early Years Foundation Stage as a framework
• Providing a safe and stimulating environment that facilitates learning
• Organizing and supervising play and work activities ( for example reading , cooking, music , dance etc)
• Liaising with parents, careers and professionals such as speech therapists and health visitor

JOB SUMMARY:

•   Experience in coordinating and engaging with development partners

Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare and deliver EFL lessons to young adults and adult learners of English (General English or IELTS)

• Apply communicative English Language Teaching method to help students acquire the language naturally and effectively

• Keep records of students' performance and test results for the assigned courses

 • Assess students' learning and progress through both formative and summative assessments

• provide relevant and effective feedback on students’ both receptive and productive language skills

• Actively contribute to providing quality education according to mission and vision statements of EVEREST Language Academy 

Required Qualifications: • Native speaker of English or Highly Proficient English Speaker

• Bachelor’s degree or higher

 • Minimum 2 years of classroom teaching experience

• Knowledge and experience with a variety of ELT contexts including English for special purposes and test preparation 

• Knowledge and experience with a variety of language teaching methodologies and ELT resource materials, incorporation of technology in the classroom

• Cross-cultural communication and teaching skills, good interpersonal skills, knowledge of basic MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Classroom

• Ability to take initiatives, be creative and flexible, and work independently and collaboratively 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• TESOL, TEFL, CELTA Certification  

• Familiarity with Myanmar language and culture
